新1年生迎え31人になったIBでSpring Party

　開設2年目の経営学部国際ビジネス学科（International Business=IB）は4月24日、PIAグローバルルームで、新年度初めてのイベントである「Spring Party」を開きました。
　2017年度のIBは2年生11人に1年生20人が加わって計31人。昨年は広々と感じたPIAグローバルルームですが、今年は学生数が一挙に3倍近くに増えたことで手狭に感じるほどのにぎわいを見せています。
　PIAグローバルルームには新年度から、国際ビジネス学科教授として就任した夏目啓二教授と男性講師のマシュー・ウィルキンソン（Matthew Wilkinson）さん、女性講師のヘレン・マカリスター（Helen McCallister）さんが加わりました。

　Spring Partyでは、2人の新任講師とローラ・イーブル（Laura Ebel）さんの3人の講師が選んだ4月の「Student of the Month」（優秀学生）として、1年生の伊佐治龍さんが選ばれたことが発表され、グローバルルームに伊佐治さんの写真が飾られました。
　Student of the Monthの選考基準は、学習成績だけでなく、学生たちのコミュニケーションづくりをいかに盛り上げたかの貢献度がポイントになります。伊佐治さんは「授業の発表では積極的に手を挙げて発言したのが認められたのだと思います」と嬉しそうでした。
　Spring Partyでは3月、4月、5月生まれの誕生祝いも行われ、6人が参加者たちの祝福を受けました。

As the weather warms up, the International Business Department is celebrating spring with a spring party. Already new students are overcoming their shyness, speaking English in classes, and making new friends.
　Happy birthday to all students with spring birthdays, and congratulations to our April Student of the Month, Ryo Isaji. Besides diligently doing his own homework, Ryo has demonstrated leadership skills by adding positive energy to class, and dynamically sharing his ideas so that others can learn, too.
